Hello everyone, and welcome to my October blog.

Autumn is upon us and I am embracing the change of season.

Feeling dormouse vibes, hitting snooze a bit more and back in jeans and snuggly cardigans.  I’ve been planning my October women’s circles and meditation sessions, making Halloween macramé bits and bobs and basically feeling very autumnal.  I’ve also been inclined to meditate more and engage in more self-care and healing practices.

I’d like to share with you my top well-being tips, taking us into this new season….

  1. Meditate, however, you choose to do it, finding that silence, even if just for a few minutes, during the day is so beneficial. Decreased stress, anxiety and depression and improved sleep are some of the many benefits of meditation.
  2. Positive affirmations, listening to positive affirmations in the morning, will set you up for the day, bringing in confidence and calmness allowing you to flow through your day.
  3. Gratitude, saying thank you for all you have, however small, puts you in a positive mindset for the day ahead
  4. Exercise, even if it’s just a short walk, get that serotonin boost and vitamin D by getting outside.
  5. Being physically active can improve your brain health, help manage weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your ability to do everyday activities.
  6. Spend time doing what you love, even if it’s just for five minutes a day, find something you love and do it with all your heart
  7. Limit the news, we were not meant to take on the burdens of the entire world. Limiting the news will prevent you from feelings of overwhelm and anxiety.
  8. Sleep, make sure you get enough good, quality sleep. It is so vital for our well-being. During sleep, your body is working to support healthy brain function and maintain your physical health
  9. Try to eat healthy, organic, wholesome, warming foods, essential for good health and nutrition.
  10. Rest, sometimes rest can be the most productive thing you can do. Listen to some calming music, or a guided relaxation or simply lie in Shavasana . Rest is vital for better mental health, increased concentration and memory, a healthier immune system, reduced stress, improved mood and metabolism.
  11. Listen to your favourite music. Research has shown that listening to music can reduce anxiety, blood pressure, and pain as well as improve sleep quality, mood, mental alertness, and memory.

All these things induce feelings of wellbeing, promote good health and increase Serotonin, which controls your mood and is responsible for happiness, helps regulate sleep, helps you think, maintains your mood and manages stress.
